Mage Macros Empty
PostSubject: Mage Macros   Mage Macros EmptySun Jan 11, 2009 10:14 am

I use a few very basic macros on my mage while raiding that save both clicking time and general headaches involved in maximum raid dps.

A macro to save your life that stops your current cast in progress to iceblock you:

#showtooltip ice block
/stopcasting
/cast ice block

---------------------------------------------

Here's one I use to hit my cooldowns at the same time, this is preferable to do at bloodlust to maximize dps, this macro assumes the mage is wearing at least the 2 piece tier 7 set.

#showtooltip icy viens
/cast icy viens
/use mana emerald
/cast combustion
/cast mirror image
/use Skull of Gul'dan

(note the use at the end is a trinket use, in this case the trinket is the skull of gul'dan, if you have a beneficial use trinket replace the name there.)

------------------------------------------

For fights that mages are expected to interupt as well as useful in pvp

#showtooltip counterspell
/stopcasting
/cast counterspell

(if have to explain this, go play a hunter)

--------------------------------------------

A good polymorph macro i use to keep track of my polys without having to use mods.

#showtooltip polymorph
/stopcasting
/focus
/cast polymorph
/ra %t has been polymorphed

additionally, you may want to make a seperate macro to clear your focus at the end of the fight, its easy enough

/clearfocus

Alternatively, for trinkets, you can use:
/use 13
/use 14

with 13 being the top trinket and 14 being the bottom trinket. This way your macro will always proc your trinket (s), without you having to edit it specifically to use them by name.
